Not to Supply Too Much Vitamin C for Esophageal Cancer Patients
Many esophageal cancer or other tumor patients believed firmly that vitamin C had the funtion of resisting cancer cell. Therefore they often taken vitamin C privately and didn’t obey doctor’s recommendation. Graduylly, they will feel a series of adverse reactions such as dizziness, fatigue, waist pain, headache and so on for long-term taken vitamin C.
During the periods of chemotherapy, plentiful vitamin C taken can acidify the urine and it is not conducive to exhause uric acid crystal, which is easy to form urinary stone, resulting in hematuria, renal colic, even aggravate the damage of kidney. Especially for cancer patients who are sensitive to chemotherapy, such as small cell lung cancer patients, malignant lymphoma patients, leukemia patients, it is suggested to drink too much water to help uric acid crystal being dissolved.
Vegetables such as radish leaf and tomato are rich in rich vitamin C and are often recommended for cancer patients to eat in order to enhance the immunity. It is important to emphasize that getting vitamin C from diets can basicly satisfy the need of vitamin C for cancer patients, so it is not necessary to add extra vitamin C pills.
In addition, patients with oesophageal cancer who also have mutil- gout, hyperoxaluria, diabetic mellitus and hemochromatosis are not suggested to supply vitamin C. All in all, cancer patients should obay doctor’s instruction.
