How Does Canker Sore Happen

Canker sore, can be also call dental ulcer, is one of common oral diseases, which is a shallow, small, round or oval ulcer. The most common canker sore is recurrent oral ulcer, which appear at lips, tongue or other parts in oral cavity and often happen frequently.

Through the clinical and immunological studies, the medical community defines canker sore as one kind of virus infection. Two viruses called HCMV and ER virus can lead to canker sore, some HCMV is hid in T lymphocytes in blood while the ER virus is hid in B lymphocytes. Once people get cold, have high emotional stress, physical fatigue or low energy, canker sore will be happened because the immunity is so poor.

Medical researcher also found that these viruses are primary virus, which will exist in body once infected and it hid in the blood vessels under the skin, reproduce in the nucleus. When the immune system is abnormal such as getting cold, the virus hidden in body will be activated and aggravate the ulcer.

In addition, canker sore is considered to be related to other factors such as genetic and hormonal. For example, the canker sore will be aggravated before the menstruation for women, however, the incidence is lower for pregnant women, which have shown that canker sore is affected by the change of hormone.
