Antioxidant Effect from Orange Juice is better than Vitamin Tablets
U.S. researchers have done such research. The respondents were divided into three groups, people in the first group drank a glass of freshly orange juice, people in the second group drank the same amount of vitamin C along with white water, people in the third group drank things as sweet as orange juice but have no vitamin C and white water. After drinking, the researchers measured the vitamin C content in the blood for people in each group. As a result, the blood level of vitamin C was increased in people who drink orange juice, or drink things containing vitamin C and white water. In other words, the efficiency of nutrient absorption is good.
Then, researchers add Oxidized hydrogen to the blood sample to determine the damage level on human genetic material. The results showed that compared with people who drank vitamin C plus white water, the blood level of DNA damage was significantly lighter in people who drank orange juice. In other words, the antioxidant effect from fresh orange juice was much stronger than vitamin C along with water.
The researchers therefore concluded that the health benefits from natural orange juice couldn’t be substituted by eating vitamin tablets. This was because the natural orange juice contains a variety of healthy ingredients, which helped each other and complement the maximize health benefits. It should be noted that the orange juice drink sold in the market has no such effect.
